Gratitude is all about being grateful, being thankful. When you are grateful, you are satisfied with what someone has done for you and the outcome. Gratitude is one of the most healthy emotions. It is important to teach your child gratitude to help them be happy for the good things in life, express their happiness, improve their mental health and build stronger relationships.
Here’s how we can teach children gratitude.
1. Teach children to express appreciation.
Encourage children to appreciate others by complimenting them. Also, share the qualities they admire in another individual.
2. Model gratitude by performing acts of kindness.
Teach children to be kind to others. This person could be their next-door neighbor, their grandma, or someone they know who needs help.

3. Make a gratitude project for your family.
Make a gratitude jar. Encourage children to contribute to it whenever they are grateful for anything. Alternatively, make a thankfulness diary for your family and keep it where everyone can see it. Encourage everyone to write in it whenever they are grateful.

4. Say Please and Thank You.
Using these words in our conversations demonstrate that we do not believe we are entitled to anything and, instead, we appreciate everything given to us.
5. Send Thank You cards.
Show your appreciation for individuals who have made a difference in your life. Encourage your children to write a note to someone who has had a positive impact on their life.
6. Always search for the good.
Make an effort to find something positive to talk about in an unpleasant circumstance.

Teach your youngsters to rephrase their complaints as something they value instead.
