Self CareWell-beingHow To Make Your Bucket List

How To Make Your Bucket List

In June 2020, along with the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput, what sparked the internet was his bucket list. That moment was enough for people to realize that life is too short to fulfil your dreams. All of us have plans and dreams, but the ‘how’ often inhibits us from taking that plunge towards that dream. If you are one of those who want to make a bucket list but are clueless as to where to begin from, here you will get a step-by-step roadmap that will help you create your bucket list.

1. Be Honest

This might sound silly but before even starting, promise yourself that you will be completely honest throughout the process. You will not set any boundaries or limitations. None of your goals are too crazy, too big, or impossible. Just try to immerse yourself in the process. Now grab a piece of paper and pen, find a cozy spot, and get ready for the next step.

2. Brainstorm

Time to unleash your aspirations and goals. Dump them and be as descriptive as possible. Don’t try to stick to any bullet format or categorize your goals now. Peep within and find all the crazy things you want to do. For more clarity, ask questions like, how do you want to be remembered, what things you wish to do anyhow if you were to die tomorrow, or things like what do you want to become?

3.Categorise and Time Your List

Now segregate them as short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, depending on the length of time you will have to devote to them. Things that you can accomplish with daily chores will fall under short-term goals. This might include writing a journal, taking charge of your body, learning a new skill online, etc. The mid-term ones will include things like catching up with an old friend, planning a family dinner, etc., while the long-term goals may include your travel plans that you wish to do and other things that will require a thorough planning.

4. Research and Planning

You need to strategize based on keeping the finances and the schedule in mind. Research and make a detailed step-wise plan to accomplish it. No matter how crazy or different your bucket list will be, there will always be someone with somewhat similar goals. Suppose you wish to go for a solo trip, you can easily find people with similar plans and places as you or those who have already done that. Interacting with them will help you get a better perspective and lessen your obstacles.

5. Time For Action

It’s the implementation that makes the above steps fruitful. So, stay committed, be accountable for your goals, and conquer them.

The best part about bucket lists is that you have the liberty to revisit and add or subtract things from them, so don’t hesitate in doing so. Only a few people can proudly say that they lived the life they dreamt of or achieved whatever they wished to.

May you be one of them.
