They always want to jump from one place to another and find fun in every activity. And what they hate the most is to be glued to a particular place. The same challenge holds good when it comes to teaching kids to sit in the car seat and asking them to follow certain discipline like putting on the seat belt, not throwing tantrums inside the car, and not disturbing the parent who is driving. But no worries, dear parents, because we have answers to all your questions. Read on to find how you can make sitting in car a fun affair for kids and get your child sit in a car seat.

Tips to get your child sit in a car seat

1. Let them be their own boss

I bet you learned things faster when you learned them all by yourself. You must have felt good for achieving small wins, which further motivated you to continue learning new things on your own. The same goes for children too. Let them be independent.

While teaching kids about car seats, let them own their actions. Encourage them to climb and sit in the car seat all by themselves. Give them the challenge of who will tie the seat belt first. This will not only help children understand the value of self-learning but also make the task of sitting inside a car a fun affair.

2. Make car seats a place where children can have fun

It is easy to do things when they are fun and you want to continue them as well. Let’s do the same with kids. Make the car seat a happy place for kids by keeping toys, colors, and books on it.

Make the toys and books reward for kids when they accomplish the task of sitting inside the car with discipline. Moreover, toys and books would keep kids busy and entertained, so they won’t disturb you during the ride.

3. Music the way

It is possible that kids may sit in the car seat easily but afterwards become cranky and throw tantrums. In order to avoid this, play music in the car and take their minds off the car seat. Play their favorite music and try to sing along with them. Try to strike up a conversation with them regarding their favorite song, or any other topic of their interest. This will help kids normalize sitting in car seat and also see it as something interesting.

4. Understand them as well

Sometimes kids are cranky not because they were forced to sit in a car seat but because of something else. Maybe they are cranky because they don’t like the smell inside the car, sit patterns or other handles. By trying to distract them, you are just eliminating the problem for a while. Later it would pop up again and maybe in elevated form. So whenever they are cranky, try to know the reason behind that, and if the reason is something else, talk to them, try to solve it, and provide them comfort.

Conclusion: Child sit in a car seat

Not every child likes changes; consequently, they are afraid of the change, making them cranky and upset. Try to normalize changes in kids’ life with the help of communication, love or some of their favorite things so that kids get used to the changing environment and even find it exciting.
